The National Media will usually start picking up on an issue

when a celebrity is touched by a problem.

We usually hear of addictions and rehab being a part of a famous individuals life.  Weather it be a movie star, rock star ,or sports figure.  A death become front page.  I suppose they are just not willing to take on big business and the pharmaceutical companies.  Prescription or over-the-counter drugs  put 1.3 million Americans at risk of death each year.

The National Media has really grasped the story of the dangers of prescription drugs in light of  Whitney Houston’s tragic death.   They are standing up and taking notice to what prescription drugs are doing to people.

Of course in all of their reporting they have missed the fact that  NSAIDs   (Non Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) are the number one killer among both prescription drugs and over-the-counter pain medications.  Hopefully, somewhere along the line at least one reporter will discover the facts and expose that millions of unsuspecting people are at risk.

It is reported that over 30,00 people die in America alone from oral pain medications.

Alcohol and pain meds is one of the most dangerous combinations doing harm to our bodies.  Besides the danger of overdose your liver is at its greatest risk.  Your liver will always process the alcohol first leaving the composition of the medicine to lay in there and destroy liver cells.

We all love Whitney, her music and movies. Such a tragedy to lose such a beautiful soul  at her young age.  Her music will always be with us.

We will Always Love You Whitney!

The Baltimore Colts and Joe Namath   Leave a comment

I was flipping through the channels and came across the 1969 Super Bowl.  Super Bowl lll

I was 14 years old and had been a Baltimore Colts fan since beginning to watch football.  Oh how that game broke my heart.

The Colts team 1969          The Jets team 1969

”Broadway Joe”  lead his team, in the AFL, to the first win over the NFL  Pro Football was structured a little different in those days. This was the first game  called “The Supper Bowl.”

Joe was the first to raise a finger with the number on sign.

A very close game. 16 to 7.  The Colts were expected to win But…..

It wasn’t until 1973 when Burt Jones became quarter back he began moving the team forward. Of course this was the time of the Pittsburgh Stealers and the Colts just couldn’t make it past them. No one could. Burt was a great player until he was hurt.

It was kind of crazy the way the Colts left Baltimore and moved to Indianapolis.

It’s a new era for the Colts now with Payton being hurt.

I have lost most of my interest in pro football.  I love the college games.  I don’t miss the supper bowl every year.
