Magnets And Pain   Leave a comment

I just became acquainted with a gentlemen at the South Bend Farmers Market who deals in magnets for pain.

It would seem he does well selling them.  The biggest selling point he has is a magnet wand or pen.  He takes the pen and in a circular aliexpress.commotion waves it around a point on your body. I have no idea how powerful this magnet is but you can feel the power.  Waving the thing around my wrist my fingers tingled for a few minutes.

I do have carpal tunnel but because of RTPR I was not experiencing pain at that time.  I was a  little impressed at power of the thing but can’t say if there was a pain relieving property to it.  This leads me to believe many people may also be impressed by this effect and make a purchase.   The bracelets are nice looking but I would think the magnets contained on them are not near as powerful as the pen.

That is the biggest selling point.  Nice looking and the pen makes your fingers tingle.  I have seen people already wearing one and buying a second and even a third.  What is it “more is better?”

I do have a friend, and client, who had a problem with his thumb.  Computer and mouse related, the repetitive motion thing.  He tried the copper bracelet.  I even wore it for a while after he gave up on that.  Then he tried a magnet.  Jason could never pin point if it was helping or not.  After about a month becoming tired of wearing it he stopped.  It’s likely in his junk drawer somewhere along with the copper one.

After I discovered Real Time Pain Relief I shared it with him.  Applying a little dab to his thumb at the kitchen table right before our eyes the swelling left, the pain stopped, and after a week of using RTPR his thumb healed.  Jason purchased a roll on bottle back in June of 2011 and, still, hasn’t used it all.  He aggravates the thumb now and then and has to reapply.  He raves how this has improved his golf game.

Back to the “Magnet Guy” I gave him a Travel Pack of Real Time Pain Relief to try at his leisure.  After a couple of weeks went by I registered an online purchase. I always call my customers and speak to them.  It was the magnet guy!  He raved about how it worked for him.  He works out and did something to his shoulder.

These are his exact words ” The Pain Was Gone Before I Even Got My Hand Away From My Shoulder From Rubbing Some On!”  ” This stuff is amazing!”

Of course my response was “I told you so.”

Most of these bracelets are made in China.  When purchased in bulk the cost is $3 a peace.  I see them being sold for $25 to $30.  Nice mark-up.  I’m not sure if diamonds have that mark-up.

If you use a laptop computer be careful wearing magnets.  They will damage your computer.  Keep the magnet away from your debit and credit cards. They will erase the magnetic strip.

Do Magnets Really Work?

There is some evidence Magnets can increase Blood Flow and ease Muscle Spasms.

Take to heart we are not suggesting you don’t try this alliterative.  We support any method that may give relief  form pain.  If this helps why not use it.

Osteoarthritis May Have A New NSAID   Leave a comment

I have been sharing Pain Killer Awareness.org with you for some time now.

If you haven’t made a visit there this is a post from May 4, 2012.

New NSAID for Osteoarthritis

“There is a new NSAID currently being tested in Seoul, Korea. Supposedly it is getting positive results when compared to Celebrex (celecoxib).  The new drug, presently referred to as CG100649, has met the safety, analgesic efficacy, and functional benefits.  Over a four week period, test patients with osteoarthritis, who experience moderate to severe pain in the knees or hips, receive 2-4 mg a day of the new drug and are then compared to another group of patients who received 200mg of Celebrex.”

“So far there has been no serious drug-related side effects but a long term cardiovascular study is needed.  Phase 3 of the testing will begin later this year, and they will be testing patients with a slightly higher dose.”
“This new form of NSAID is designed to target the areas of inflamed tissue while maintaining low exposure to the rest of the body.  It has a rare mixture of a COX-2 inhibitor and carbonic anhydrase (CA) and is deemed superior when it comes to safety for the cardiovascular, renal, and gastrointestinal tissues as opposed to other NSAIDs or COX-2 inhibitors.”

“I just thought this information was interesting.  Haven‘t all the other NSAIDs been through some sort of testing such as this? I would assume they pass with positive results too, since they are allowed on the market.  Yet, problems are soon discovered once they are released to the population. I am sure we will be hearing about this one sooner or later if it makes it through the next testing phase.”  From the author: Christina Anthony’s Blog at http://rtpr.com

All NSAIDs have negative side effects.

The only COX-2 inhibitor still available is Celebrex.  The others were removed from the market by the FDA in 2005.  The FDA concluded the benefits out weigh the risk.  This was just about the time I was prescribed Celebrex for pain that appeared in my arm.  All the news was coming to light about liver damage, stroke, heart attack, and even death from these drugs.  I was uncomfortable ingesting the drug even though it really worked on my pain.  Telling my doctor so his reply was “your young and healthy and you SHOULD be OK.  I stopped taking Celebrex.
”Should” didn’t do it for me.

I tolerated the pain in my arm until 2011 when Real Time Pain Relief came to my attention.  What they say is true “Rub It On, The Pain Is Gone.”

Forget The Pain And Ibuprofen   Leave a comment

Forget The Pain And Ibuprofen

We all know Ibuprofen.  There are several brand names associated with this non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).  Found as an over the counter pain reliever and fever reducer.   There are higher dosages available by prescription.

Discovered in the 1960s Ibuprofen received a patent in 1961.  Becoming available in England  in 1969 and the United States in 1974 by prescription only.  Not until 1984 was it made available as an over the counter medicine by the FDA.

Because of the anti-inflammatory properties the drugs have become popular with arthritis suffers.  Other common uses include  headache, toothaches, menstrual cramps,  and, at times, acne.  Over all any mild to moderate pain.

Also a  vasodilator some negative side effectshave been associated with the drugs use especially with people afflicted with heart and circulatory problems.

Pay close attention to dosage recommendations.  Always consult your Doctor on extended use.

Research has shown it not to be quite as effective as acetylsalicylic acid and the drugs effects wear of faster.  Commonly know by it’s brand name “Aspirin” trade marked by the Bayer Corporation.  One plus the drug is not as irritating to the stomach and intestinal tract.

Please take this warning to heart or liver if you will.  Never take a medication with alcohol.  It is a well known fact the liver is a stupid organ.  The liver will always process alcohol first leaving the ingredients of a medication waiting it’s turn.  Setting there it destroys liver cells.  The liver is one organ that has the ability to rejuvenate it’s self but when the damage become to great there is no turning back.

Side Effects:

Nausea and Vomiting, Ulcers and bleeding, Elevation of Liver Enzymes (Liver Damage), Diarrhea, Constipation, Headache, Dizziness, Rash,  Hearing Loss.  Difficult or Slow Breathing.   Renal Problems (Kidney Damage).   Heart Attack and Stroke.

Long term use, over three months,  has been linked with erectile dysfunction as have all NSAIDs.

Because Ibuprofen is found in so many over the counter medications people taking several meds at once have the potential of over dose.  When treating the cold or flu pay attention to the ingredients.  Over dose is possible.

When it comes to pain relief we have a safe and effective topical lotion without the dangerous side effects of NSAIDs.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome And Pain Relief   Leave a comment

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is an autoimmune disease causing a feeling of low energy and weakness..

Some natural doctors believe it stems from high levels of yeast in the system.  Too many antibiotics and corticosteroids. Corticosteroids has to do with stress response, immune response, and control over inflammation. Also having a great deal of control over metabolism. A poor diet may compound the condition which can cause pain symptoms like Fibromyalgia.

There are some ways to treat muscle pain from chronic fatigue. Over-the-counter medications can relieve muscle pain improving the ability to act.  Their negative side effect to the body should be a consideration.

Applying heat to the area that hurts may help.   Using a heating pad or combination ice and heat pad works because heat increases blood flow and cold can cut further swelling.  Another option is to relax is a hot bath.  Again heat gets the blood flowing which can help pain. Relaxing and lowering stress is always a good thing.

Massage can have a positive effect.  It also helps to get up and move around.

Blood flow is so important.  Bringing oxygen and nutrients to all our important parts.  Also removing the bad stuff.

Our product, a topical lotion with a unique blend of Homeopathic, Herbal and Nutritional Ingredients, assists in the process of  reducing inflammation, revitalizing tissue, and increasing blood flow.  Not to mention revealing pain in minutes.

Pain and Smoking   Leave a comment

Physicians widely agree  smoking increases the sensation of pain.  This was the first question I was asked when my doctor was trying to diagnose the pain in my arm.  He told me smoking has an effect on your threshold of pain.

Of course the health risks of smoking are well known.  Some suffer from the same life threatening illnesses as smokers and never had a cigarette in their life.  Can this all be blamed on second had smoke?

Very difficult to quite smoking,  just ask me.  I stopped for 2 1/2 years once.  Why I started up again I’ll never understand.

Nicotine has an effect on your circulatory system.
Even though it increases heart rate and blood pressure there is a negative effect on the delivery of oxygen thought out the body.  Lowering the movement of  oxygen and carbon dioxide into and out of the cells.
This can  slow the ability for healing.

I am an advocate for blood flow. Send the fuel to the engine.  Smoking lowers the octane so to speech.

The toxins in cigarette smoke takes about 8 second to reach the brain.  Affecting your nerves system that fast.

Pain sufferers should not smoke but this is true for all of us.
