This news comes from Brigham Young University.

Every year a group of engineering students from Brigham Young are challenged to create a product which meets the company’s specific needs.

The Capstone program is put on every year at BYU.

This year one of the teams is being sponsored by Blackstone. The Blackstone Group L.P. is a multinational private equity, investment banking, alternative asset management and financial services corporation based in New York City.

They have challenged one of the engineering student teams to create an apparatus that will decrease the number of people dying from prescription drug abuse. The Med Vault News

The Med Vault is a tamper proof prescription drug vault. It is setup to dispense the prescribed dose of the drug at the prescribed times. If the patient tries to break in or tamper with the machine this activity is recorded.

I wonder if the plan is to dispense this device with every oral pain prescription?

Those with a history of drug abuse and memory problems may do well with this gizmo.

When we are seeing that over 30,000 people die each year from oral pain medications has to be a great idea no matter what the cost.

I am all for this little machine and hope the public embraces it, but more than that I say get off these dangerous medications and use a safe and effective alternative.

Real Time Pain Relief is found in over 20 countries around the world.

The Homeopathic formula has .5% and the over the counter formula has 1%. 1% or below is considered to be a safer level of menthol. This level will not “burn” or raise levels of Substance P.

WUBS 89.7 FM is a Christian Broadcasting Channel on the FM dial. They severe South West Lower Michigan and West/Central Northern Indiana.

I met the Rev. Sylvester Williams Jr. at a winter bazaar where he was doing a remote broadcast for WUBS. He came up to me and asked what I had to offer. I didn’t realize we were live on the air speaking into his microphone. A bit later a gentleman came up to me and said “I heard you on the radio and came here to speak with you”. I wasn’t ready for that. I asked if I did OK and he said sure, I’m here to talk with you, yes. His response calmed me down.

I was on television once. Just a two-minute spot and I near had a stroke getting ready for that. You may have watched the video of that on my video page.

The Reverend Williams is a great guy and quite the radio personality. He has the gift.

He decided to let me do a 30 min, spot on his station. The Forget The Pain And South Bend Pain Management On WUBS FM Radio Reverend is the co-founder of the station. They have been on the air since April, 2000.

He set me right at ease and I have a fun time doing this spot. We talked about my company, Forget The Pain And South Bend Pain Management and my featured product Real Time Pain Relief. How are bodies perceive pain and what we can do to raise pain tolerance and reduce inflammation.

So many people deal with chronic pain and it is my mission to show how this alliterative pain therapy can change people lives. Again and again this is true and repeatedly pain sufferers experience amazing results!

I hope to return and do this again soon.

Jonathan Chapman otherwise known as Johnny Appleseed. Jonathan Chapman was a real person and he lived from 1774 until 1845.

He was a nurseryman and really did spread the apple tree around the early American frontier. He died on March 18, 1845 at the age of 70 in Fort Wayne, Indiana where he was laid to rest.

The fruit has been around for thousands of years in Asia and Europe and brought to the Americas by the European Colonists. Today China and the USA produce the most.

This is the time for apples and the Gala variety I have been getting at my local farmers market are the best. I have had a taste for apples of late and the ones from the grocery do not compare to the locally grown from the farmers market. Crispy and sweet. I wish I could share one with you!

An Apple A Day Keeps The Doctor Away.

They are an excellent source of antioxidants and effective in reducing the risk of certain cancers. Positive effects on heart disease, cholesterol, and weight loss.

Do you have heartburn? Try an apple. Certain varieties do better with different people. Test a couple different kinds to find the one that works best for you.

We can enjoy them in so many ways. One of my favorites in salsa. You will find a lot of different recipes online. I use a Granny Smith in mine. Great with chips and really good with pork.

Apple Cider vinegar. How often do we use that?

Applesauce works well in mashed potatoes. Give it a try.

I bought a peck yesterday. I have an apple and some cheese when a sweet snack is on my mind.

We find cabbage in the market all year round but right now what you find in your local farmers market is exceptional. There are several varieties and colors.

Is it healthy? Certainly. Cabbage if full of antioxidants and vitamins and minerals plus low in fat and calories. High in vitamin K which promotes healthy bones. It is known as a natural detox.

The anti-inflammatory effect is at a moderate level and the glycemic load is low.

I would say we see the coleslaw thing the most but we add it to salads, make soup, and stuff it with meat and fruit. Where would Corn Beef Be without Cabbage? Hey where does Sauerkraut come from?

I am always frying up the stuff, olive oil of course. with Cajun Sausage or brats. A few years ago a friend put together some soup. It was great but he doesn’t remember what all he put in it. The soup is always good but that one batch was top flight. That’s what interested me and I started making the soup.

The cool damp weather has me making a batch today.

Onion
Garlic
Cream of Asparagus Soup

I think some cornbread will do well with it.

It is believed squash is native to the Americas and the people considered the plant one of ”The Three Sisters” which included corn and beans.

Planted together the corn gave the bean vines something to climb on and gave shade to the squash.

Squash has sustained people for the millennia during the winter months. It stores well in a cool, dry place. If you looked in a root cellar it’s likely you would find some.

I enjoy the summer varieties and we always add summer squash to our barbecue and fish fries. Zucchini is everywhere now
Now the winter varieties abound and I see many I have never seen before.and besides making some bread I put together a pan of zucchini lasagna last week.

A few of my favorites are butternut, acorn, and spaghetti squash. We should not exclude the pumpkin. A pie pumpkin is on top of my list. They are so sweet and not just for pies.

Baked, fried, added to soups and stews, fritters, and some even pickle well. Added to a salad too. Stuffed with meat or fruit The fruits uses are as diverse as your imagination. There is a lot of juice in there to enjoy. Try a smoothie. The blossoms and the seeds are delicious too. I always save the seeds and give them a roast. We should all have a handful of seeds and nuts daily. What a great snack.
